Nero Gallery ospita, dal 2 al 23 maggio 2015, Over The Pop prima personale capitolina di Massimo Pasca.
Over the Pop, curata da Giuseppe Amedeo Arnesano, è un’idea che racconta l’interessante ricerca condotta dal pittore pugliese per oltre venti anni di attività artistica.
La pittura di Massimo Pasca, che vive anche nel rinnovamento colto del segno di Keith Haring, si esprime attraverso una singolare rappresentazione iconica fortemente Pop e impegnata. Nel 2012 per le edizioni EST viene pubblicato il libro “Keith Haring a Pisa”, Cronaca di un murales (introduzione di Omar Calabrese e intervista di Carlo Venturini) nel quale, dopo una lunga intervista dedicata a Massimo Pasca, il pittore salentino è considerato uno dei prosecutori stilistici del segno dell’artista americano.
Over the Pop raccoglie una ragionata ed aggiornata selezione delle opere pittoriche e illustrative riunite nello spazio della giovane e intraprendente galleria di Pigneto.
Le sperimentazioni di Pasca, vissute in maniera totale dalla musica alla pittura,con l’esperienza decennale dei Working Vibes, le numerose collaborazioni con i Negrità, (per i quali illustra l’album Helldorado) e fino alle centinaia di live painting in tutta Italia,(dal Macro di Roma al Festival della Creatività di Firenze, passando per i maggiori club italiani), lo caratterizzano come uno dei protagonista più attivi della scena live nazionale.
Proprio in occasione Over the Pop Massimo Pasca, come un maestro di cerimonie, si esibirà in uno “Spoken word”, una performance ritmica che coniuga il dub, la parola e la poesia.
Massimo Pasca (classe 1974) è pittore, illustratore, live painter tra i più attivi in Italia. Negli anni si è dotato di uno stile in bilico tra pop art e fumetto, dal forte sapore surrealista che lo ha portato ad esporre in Italia e all’estero realizzando numerose performance di pittura dal vivo durante i concerti di gruppi come, Negrita, Marta sui Tubi, Le luci della centrale elettrica, Joy Cut, Esquelito, Andrea Mi, Finaz (Bandabardò).
Tra i luoghi nei quali ha performato ci sono Il Macro di Roma, Mandela forum di Firenze ,Piper Club, Il Circolo degli artisti, il MAT, Link di Bologna, il Museo dell’Alto Tavoliere di San Severo. Ha collaborato con i Negrita, realizzando le illustrazioni del cd ”Helldorado” ed illustra per riviste come Il Mucchio, Collettivo Mensa, Todo Magazine, Lungarno, e l’etichetta discografica Alfa Romero e la marca d’abbigliamento Merry Autumn.
Nel maggio 2011 la marca di borse di dischi Proel gli commissiona la decorazione di dieci borse per i migliori Dj’s europei di musica da club. Tra le ultime esposizioni di rilievo nel 2011 espone a Otranto nella mostra di Salvator Dali’dove in una area del Castello Aragonese espone più di venti lavori di grandi dimensioni. Nel mese di Ottobre 2012 esce il libro “ Keith Haring a Pisa” Cronaca di un murales, per le edizioni ETS, nel libro ci sono quattro pagine di intervista a Massimo Pasca considerato uno degli eredi del segno del pittore americano.

The Nero Gallery in Rome hosts, from May 2nd to May 23rd 2015, “Over the Pop”, Mario Pasca’s first solo capitoline exhibition. “Over the Pop”, curated by Giuseppe Amedeo Arnesano, is an idea that talks about the interesting research made by the Apulian painter during over twenty years of artistic activity.
Massimo Pasca’s painting, who also lives in the renewal caught sing of Keith Haring, expresses himself through a singular and iconic representation strongly pop and mature. “Over the Pop” collects a reasoned and updated selection of pictorial and illustrative works reunited in the space of Pigneto’s young and enterprising gallery.
In 2012, for the EST editions, it was published the book “Keith Haring in Pisa”, chronicle of a murals (introduction by Omar Calabrese and interview by Carlo Venturini), in which, after a long interview dedicated to Massimo Pasca, the painter from Salento is considered one of the stylistic prosecutors in the sign of the American artist.
Pasca’s experiments, in a total way lived from music to painting, with decades of experience of Working Vibes, a lot of collaborations with Negrita (for whom he illustrated the disco “Helldorado”) and hundreds of live painting all over Italy (from Macro in Rome to the Festival of Creativity in Florence, through the major Italian clubs), characterize him as one of the protagonists most active in the nationwide live scene.
Just on the occasion of “Over the Pop”, Massimo Pasca, as a master of ceremonies, will perform in a “Spoken word”, a rhythmic performance that combines dub, words and poetry
Massimo Pasca (Nardò, Lecce, 1974) is a painter, illustrator and live painter among the most active in Italy. Over the years he has developed a style between pop art and comics, with a strong surrealist flavor that has brought him to exhibit in Italy and abroad, creating a lot of performances of live painting during concerts of many band, such as Negrita, Marta sui Tubi, Le luci della centrale elettrica, Joy Cut, Esquelito, Andrea Mi, Finaz (Bandabardò).
He has performed in places like Macro in Rome, Mandela Forum in Florence, Piper Club, Il circolo degli artisti, MAT, Link in Bologna, Alto Tavoliere Museum in San Severo. He has collaborated with Negrita, creating the images for the disco “Helldorado” and he illustrates for magazines such as Il mucchio, Collettivo mensa, Todo Magazine, Lungarno and the record label Alfa Romero and the brand clothing Merry Autumn.
In May 2011, the discs bags brand Proel has commissioned him to decorate ten bags for the best European DJs of club music. In the latest major exhibitions in 2011, he exhibited in Otranto for Salvador Dalì’s exhibition, where in an area of Aragonese Castle he showed more than twenty big jobs. In October 2012 he released the book “Keith Haring in Pisa” Cronicle of a murals, for ETS editions, where there are four pages of interview to Massimo Pasca, considered one of the heirs of the American painter.
